What would be a good second? What line of work are you in, where do you live and what are your interests? Why not learn two or three languages? Any second language is good. Make sure you pick a mainstream language, as opposed to some ancient dialect from Micronesia! You'll probably find that a lot of Malaysian people speak Cantonese or Mandarin, but not many Chinese people speak Malay. Think about Mandarin, Japanese, German and Spanish. I think those, together with English, are the biggies. (I've traveled quite a bit and have always found people who speak good enough English to accomplish the business at hand.) Mike
