I would be interested in hearing from anyone who feels they have been "taken in" by a mail-in rebate offer. I'm currently wating for a $100 mail-in rebate for an NEC monitor that I bought from Future Shop. Three months later, no rebate has materialized despite letters to NEC, Future Shop, and the rabate handler. A few years back, it took 8 months for me to get a $50 rebate from Iomega for one of their Zip drives. It took letters to the Better Business Bureau amd the Attorney General of Utah before that one finally arrived. Anybody else with mail-in rebate horror stories? Better yet, has anyone hit on a successful strategy to induce the retailer to finally pay up?
