I'd advise against e-mail unless you've gotten the permission of the patients. Presumably you got the e-mails from the patients when they registered - if they explicitly agreed to such mailings at that time, then you probably can do that. Just be aware that many anti-spam programs may well designate your e-mails as spam anyway.
