I'm about to launch an entertainment business with an international talk show. I've been working on barter deals with many businesses to keep start-up costs to a minimum. Basically, I get their services/products in exchange for a plug at the end of the show. Anyway... What I'm wondering is if accountants for a business must be ... or should be .... in the state that business is in. In other words, could an accounting firm adequately handle the books if they're in a different state? Or is there some reason why you should only look for an accounting firm within your own state? State tax laws perhaps? If it matters, I'm in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Scott Jensen -- Peer-to-peer networking (a.k.a. file-sharing) is entertainment's future.
