I have a small office with new computers (with client data), copier, fax and office equipment. The surrounding area is not the best (it's beside a couple old stores and near a junior high school). What do most small businesses do to protect against after hour theft? My windows are tinted and curtains drawn. But I'm still worried about greedy people in this bad economy. Should I bother with computer locks to the desk? Are having lights around the outside a good idea? Should I put lights inside the office at all hours to discourage entry? I know it's easy to pick locks (tried a kit and it works on most doors). Is there some affordable insurance to buy? Are audio security systems useful (I know car alarms aren't very usefull)? Or should I set up a 24 hour motion detection recording low lux video camera that transmits the video over the internet to my home?
