First, Have you done the research to see if the product has selling potential? 
Second, identify what category the product falls in. Is it a consumer product
or a business product?  Third, are there any selling outlets that the product
could fit within their existing product lines or are you looking for direct to
consumer sales reps?  

These are the first steps to determine who to contact and how.
