Personally, I think tha P.O. boxes can have both positive and negative connotations. As several of you have mentioned, for some, it speaks of a small/home/startup and, unfortunately, scam business. But keep in mind that many well-established businesses use P.O. boxes for their primary addresses. And I believe that for what this gentleman is seeking to do, it's quite appropriate to start out with a P.O. box if a Mailboxes, etc. is not logistically possible or feasible. As his business grows, however, it would certainly be wise to continue to establish the business infrastructure in a manner that is consistent with the types of clients the business attracts and services. For a small start-up, the most important factor is the manner in which clients are serviced, and the reputation of competence and professionalism that is developed and maintained in his day-to-day customer interactions. Because he can be on the penthouse level of a corporate high-rise or in a dank, dark corner of his basement; if his service sucks, it won't matter -what- his business cards say.
