Of the few known incidents, nearly all have happened at the *northern* border.
You would understand this better if you stop to consider where Islamic ex-pat
communities in N. America are located. And while there are rumors that Islamic
extremists have tried to recruit hispanics, the only notable known case
involved Jose Padilla who, interestingly, is a native-born American from
Chicago, not an immigrant. So your fears are so far still unsubstantiated, Red.
And are unproven fears any reason to fall back on a Stalinesque solution? Not
in a free society. So to a level one must take the good with the bad and look
for alternate solutions. Militarized borders are a fool's option.
