Subject: who is this?
I got mail yesterday from a musicshop website I often use (ab-cd.com) . . .=20=
.=20
so in their new release update this was listed . .i'm kind of surprised I=20
know nothing of this . . .can somone enlighten me??? Petur maybe you know=20
something? It's certain sounds good from the description i got.
Is there a website for this band where I can hear audio samples???
here is the write up I got from ab-cd:
EINOMA - Milli Tonverka
"Reykjavik's Einoma (the alias of Erstwhile film-makers and producers=20
Steindar & Bjarnar) make uncompromising, bleakly beautiful music=20
that, try as you might to avoid the clich=E9d stereotype, can't help=20
but conjure their island home's austere, tectonic majesty. Milli=20
Tonverka - their second album ('music that lies between' is the rough=20
translation), expands the palette to include echoes of Coil's=20
distopian grind here, Brian Eno's most exotic ambient tone poems=20
there, though always retaining something uniquely, ineffably=20
icelandic at its core. Milli Tonverka's is an album of uncompromising=20
highlights. There's the almost jaunty motorik undertow of 'Khanin'=20
for example, overlaid with gorgeous, alpine keyboards that suddenly=20
cede to stark caverns of crunching, tactile electronics -- idm recast=20
as the colossal friction of shifting glaciers, essentially. Then=20
there are the wondrous symphonic shadings that flutter in the margins=20
of 'Ur Afongum's' otherwise pulverizing rhythmic assault, or the=20
contrastingly lush ambient tone baths of 'Eindir. Liour Og Laeoist',=20
meanwhile, interlaces subtle violin and Hildigunnur Einarsdottir=20
fabulously ethereal vocals over a shape-shifting rhythmic drone that=20
sounds, well, like a volcano that's about to blow, frankly." $ 15.97

I would highly recommend it. Though I haven't seen them in concert
(I have been waiting for them to come to the US), I've seen clips, and
it should be amazing.
The UK guitar magazine I read also rated them one of the best live
bands ever.
cheers,
ml
