Subject: OT: . . .sorry but . .
this is completely off topic . . .but I recently read an interesting article
somewhere online, about how there is an organization of some sort in the UK
that pays out the royalies for radio air play in that country.
The article I read basically said how many major and minor acts are not
properly registared, and there for have money sitting in accounts waiting to be
claimed . .yadda yadda . .
did anyone esle read thsi article . .if you did . .please tell me where it
was (and give a link if possib;e) also there was a website for this organization
. . .i'm definately looking for their URL.
any help will be appreciated. e-mail me privately so as not to annoy out
fellow bepers more then this mail just did.
thanks in advance.

Haven't actually listened to the Fashion Rocks song, but I doubt she has
anything permanently wrong with her voice, she is of course getting older
and has been using her voice to extremes for a long time, I think we can let
her off the hook for the occasional dodgy performance!!! Or maybe it was
McQueen singing the high bits????? The whole Fashion Rocks show as a
concept seemed really dodgy, esp when you have Dennis Leary and Elizabeth
Hurley as presenters.......scary.
I loved the mask but only when it was half on her face, and that picture of
her and charlie, it looked like her hair was trying to cover up his bald
spot in sympathy!!!! LMAO!!!

>>>Bjork has just been on TV on the Fashion Rocks and I have to say her =
voice was dreadful tonight. It was fine on the verses and choruses, but on =
the high bits at the end of Bachelorette,it REALLY cracked up and she =
looked like she was struggling to hit the notes. Why has her voice gone =
downhill during the last couple of years.I noticed that on the Homogenic =
tour it was quite crackly and in 1989 her voice with The Cubes was quite =
bad(I have some boots from 89 where her voice is so bad) I really hope =
it doesn't stay permanently and that her voice gets back to how it was =
where she could do all the vocal stuff. She still can,but not as well as =
before. It was a good performance,it was just the end that brought it =
home to me that maybe she's losing her voice.<<<<

McQueen didn't sing... Björk performed on a platform in the center of the stage while
models dressed in Alexander McQueen creations strutted around her. I don't think he
was even on stage at the time. I thought Björk's voice sounded fine... True, it
cracked a bit here and there, but doesn't it usually during live performances? It's
part of her character.

i haven't heard anything about this recording yet. it's disappointing that the 2003
shows aren't
spreading like the 2001 shows did. so far i've only gotten 3 shows from this year, and
it's taken a
lot of correspondence and time to get them. in 2001, i was getting the shows within
weeks of them
happening. i hope more 2003 shows start circulating soon. what really amazes me is
that copies of
both nyc shows never got out there (no offense to you scattermachine, i know you're
doing all that
you can to get the show out there). oh well. time will tell.
eric.
p.s. please let me know if you get this show.

Subject: Naff n chuff n stuff
Hi all,
HMMM, most interesting trying to find the proper definitions for the slang
adjectives Bjork was using. "Chuff" in particular pulls up a host of
remakable definitions that could not possibly be the ones she meant. But I
eventually found this one:
chuff
verb tr.; usually passive (British) (slang)
to please or delight
example: he was chuffed by his pay rise
[ETYMOLOGY: probably from chuff (adj) pleased, happy (earlier: chubby), from
C16 chuff (obsolete n) a fat cheek, of unknown origin]
'chuffed adjective
The rest I found are rather of her topic - fart, the hair around ones
arsehole, a boorish fellow, a woman's genitalia or pubic area, seminal
fluid,
to vomit in projectile fashion...
"Naff" has less variety of meanings, but the one I found that seems most
apropos is "uncool".

Bjork: It's the only time I've heard another person sing my lyrics
and I was very chuffed about that. Chuffed is kind of a combination of
grateful and flattered, and speechless.

Dodgy? I happened to think the performance was awesome. So Bjorks voice
cracked a couple of time, so what!!! WE are only HUMAN, and as brilliant as
she is, shes still just a lovely lady from iceland.
I looked at the performace as a whole, the dress, and the twinkles on her
face, and Mcqueen Nordic style fashions, it was great!

Subject: v3 = good the bad and the ugly ???
well I would jump to conclusions yet, but I noticed on MTV.com news section,
in an article about a hip-hop compilation album that A Tribe Called Quest is
reuniting for . . .that this compliation album will be called "V3: the good the
bad and the ugly"
sounds familar to the project we heard about years ago, that might possibly
be where a track from Rza with Bjork would appear on.
I'm guessing at this point, those tracks are ancient history . . .but hey you
never know, i'll keep an eye out and an ear peeled.
This compilation is supposed to be released on Violator records
(http://www.violator.com/) . . .and like i said it's probally just a coincidence in
title.
anyone know more about this album? o have a way to pump violator for
information.
