Hi, all...

Thought I'd better announce this before some enterprising individual
stumbles upon the umbrellamusic site... ;)

Some of you know that I do video reports for Canadian indie music website
UmbrellaMusic.com (which is the content arm of the well-known
MapleMusic.com)... Well, since earlier this year, they have been hosting the
a monthly 'UmbrellaLive' series at the Rivoli in Toronto that feature local
and Canadian indie artists...

I usually organize a benefit show at C'est What around this time of year,
but this year, I (in the guise of Rant Mode On Productions) am joining
forces with Umbrella to produce the holiday edition of UmbrellaLive for next
month, and we have come up with a real doozy of a show.

We're still working on some of the details, but Emm Gryner (with band) and
Sarah Slean (solo) will be headlining. This is the only date Emm will be
playing before she heads out on Jann Arden's Canadian tour, and also the
last chance to catch Sarah for several months, as she will be recording her
new album and is not certain yet when it will come out.

Details are as follows:

UmbrellaMusic and Rant Mode On Productions present
UmbrellaLive
December 17, 2003
8:30 pm doors
$10
Advance tickets available from maplemusic.com
A portion of the proceeds to the Toronto Disaster Relief Committee
Featuring Emm Gryner, Sarah Slean, and TBA

(the 'TBA' is going to be great as well!)

Hope to see some of you there... I recommend ordering tickets from Maple
just to be safe, because it's bound to sell out very quickly. Keep in mind
that the Rivoli only holds 120 ('official' capacity - it easily holds 200,
but the Toronto clubs are a bit freaked out by the fire marshal these days
;P).

(If you go to umbrellamusic.com, the link to ordering tickets is in the
right-hand sidebar ad.)

We will be featuring tracks from the artists playing the show on the site
over the next few weeks, so keep checking back!

- Tab.
