According to what's written here -
http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2003/11/21/14616/561 - MP3.COM archives
are to be _destroyed_ quite soon. Things might get better, but I
wouldn't guarantee it. So, if you are an artist who held works there -
hurry up. Make backups. Go visit your friends with a cheap cable access
and see if you can persuade them to pull your stuff for youy and make
backups on CD-R or DVD-R media. If you aren't, but you know someone - go
tell them. If you have the abovementioned cheap access, especially with
unmetered bandwidth - look around, perhaps you can save someone years'
worth of creativity.
I'd be happy to help myself, but the only unmetered access I have here
is a dialup account, and where it's metered, it's like around 40-to-60
$$ per gigabyte.
