I have built a recent version of Icon with the Cygwin development tools for Windows, including the compiler. I agree that although nothing has been done to intentionally break the compiler, recent changes have undermined the compiler build procedure. Yes, I discovered that the default build procedure for rtt does not build the runtime database. I don't recall an argp bug. Could you send me more details about the problems you had? I must confess that after going through an extensive effort to bring back the native code compiler, I am not sure that it was worth the effort. Even on relatively powerful platforms, the iconc compiler can hit memory limits when trying to compile mid-sized Icon programs. I was only able to compile the most rudimentry graphics programs.
