I don't see a problem with double-clicking to open a detail window, but this could depend on the background or expectations of the users. If you tell us more about why that approach bothers you, perhaps we can comment more. If a typical night's run leaves a large number of items to be corrected, the correction process will be easier if you provide a list of ONLY the unprocessed items. There are many ways you could do that. One: by moving successfully processed items to a "done" list, leaving behind only the unprocessed ones. Another: offering the user a choice of two views, one showing all entries with the unprocessed ones highlighted, the other showing only the unprocessed ones.
