After some time using the SKin modifiers to deform mesh, I have come to
realise how impracticle this tool is. Not the mesh but its inherent
control of the vertices by using the envelopes.
There must be a BETTER way to assign weights to vertices.
How many times have you been stuck with a group of vertices sharing
weights, thus possibly causing conflicts?
How about the Normalized vs "un-normalized"....its skews the mesh evenmore.
Why must it be so difficult and tedious to assign a even gradation of
weights over a broad mesh to allow for smooth bending?
What about those blasted creases, folds and tears in the geometry that
the Joint and Bulge are ineffective...and very tedious to use.
Paint Weights just plainly sucks.
Max has to have other solutions for controlling the weights of vertices
accurately and efficiently. Perhpas it is a limitation Max has and other
packages excell in.....not sure
What are your opinion about the Skin-envelope-wegihts-gizmo situation?
Is there a better way?
