I would love to, however I can't get it to compile.  Specifically, it 
complains:
checking for GLIB - version >= 2.2.0... no
*** Could not run GLIB test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for 
the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means GLIB is incorrectly 
installed.
configure: error: Test for GLIB failed. See the file 'INSTALL' for help.

I went and got glib-2.2.3, and it compiles and installs (./configure, make, 
make install) fine.  However Gimp doesn't seem to "see" the new version.  
Usually in this situation I do 'which glib' and figure out which one is 
being used.  However GLIB appears to be a collection of things, and I don't 
know their names.

This is on Redhat 8.0.  I may have messed it up beyond all hope when I tried 
to install Gimp 1.2.22, see for details:

Can anyone help?
