Recently I joined a software development group which uses RenderWare,
3d Studio, and Character Studio to do their 3d modeling/animation.
This question deals with animation and a specific file format I cannot
seem to figure out how to export. In our system we use a few file
formats to achieve our final result. renderware bsp's for the world
models, dff's for certain objects and avatars, bmp's for textures, and
ska's for animation. the problem is the .ska files. No one can seem
to remember how the heck we came up with them. Unfortunately the
programers and modelers who worked on this project before are no
longer around, so I cannot ask them. All the info I have is that they
used character studio to do the animation, and then they exported an
.ska file. I assume it stands for something like skeletal animation,
but I have not been able to figure out where to find the exporter or
utility that will yield this file format.
There is a serious sam ska studio, but this does not work. .
.only exports Serious Sam type files. Also a utility called FakkTools
had an ska utility, but again, this is not the one.
I am beginning to assume that they wrote their own animation
exporter for 3dStudio, but I cannot be certain. If anyone has any
insight on this, it would be greatly appreciated.
