Rhetorical questions are just like arguments, but this is all irrelevant. The fact is that the commercial release of games using SDL does not say anything about Allegro other than it is not as popular. For what it's worth, I hate Allegro with a completely nonsensical passion and would choose SDL over it any day... not just because I hate Allegro, but because I find SDL to be intuitive and useful. All I'm saying is that the commercial games angle shouldn't really matter when discussing the quality of an API. There are *more* commercial games using direct VGA access than there are using SDL... but there are a few thousand other things to take into consideration. What the argument (yes, argument) *does* do is proves that SDL is a viable option for commercial games. Evidence on whether Allegro is a viable option or not is not yet available.
