sybase an d mac os x panther 10.3

I just downloaded  the sybase ASE database for Mac OS X.  During the 
installation, everything seems to work ok.  However, when I used the server 
discovery it only finds the backup server on port 11223. 

I looked at the logs in the install directory, and it everything looks ok. 

Does anyone have any ideas about what I can try to get server up and running.
