Does the detail table show the linking fields?

What happens if you remove the calculated field?

Values are not automatically entered unless
-you have default values defined for the columns in the table
-or the fields are used as linking fields in which the values are taken 
from the master table
-or you have defined them as calculated.


Anyway, with your description of the problem, I cannot recreate it. You 
have to provide further details.
-table structures
-linking fields
-where the calculacted field is. (inside the detail table frame or outside)
