Re: Unable to have a key for trial version

Well, I have had IBM services and they give me a licence to try it. This is unusual but I need to try the 7.2 version because my customer get it on a machine and want to grow on v 8. I have also a v 8 trial wich I will install later.

So the solution is to tests in two versions many problems before doing the transfert.

THank to all of you.

Mark, I done all this, but I want to have the 7.1 version first to test it.

I have well created the user and the password in the installation. It is just the recording licence for trial version wich I can't obtain !

A +

Hi there,

I have get a book wich have a free trial version of IBM DB2 (7.2) wich I
have installed on my PC.

The problem is that I cannot run it, because it seems to have no licence.

When I start the program to get the licence with my web connexion open
and after having fill all the required fields, this take a very long
time with a message in a box that specify this will take few time.
Of course nothing happen except my telephon charges grows...

After five attempt, la last one about 35 minutes, I am bore of this
stupid thinks thant consist to have a produce and not be able to run it !

I must say that I work under Microsoft SQL Server, and this stupid thing
let me think that is easyer to work with $$$crosoft than with IBM...

Is there anyway to obtain the right to get into IBL DB2 without wainting
an eternity ???

Thanks in advance !

You can download a free trial version of DB2 version 8 from the IBM website.
It is good for 90 days and then you need a license. I believe that if you
are installing on Windows, the Fixpak 4 code is all inclusive (version 8
base code not required to be installed first).

To install DB2 you must create a Windows userid of 8 characters or less,
give that id Windows administrator authority, and then be logged on with
that id when you install DB2.
