This is probably a stupid question, but I've been playing around with many to many and related fields all night with no luck, so I thought I'd try here. If you can help that would be wonderful.
I'm using Filemaker 6 on OSX.
I have a database that contains contact information. It's perfect and I love it. Entering data is a snap and all the scripts run well.
However, I run into trouble when trying to take data from this
database and have it auto entered into another, related database. What I'd like to be able to do is have a button in the original
(working) database that will open another database, create a new
record and automatically import field information from the original
database related to a Customer ID field (unique).
However, I'm unable to figure out how to write a script that will pull
or put data into a difference database file. I might be going about
this all wrong, but it was late and I was half asleep at the time. When I played around with the related fields options I could never get
it to enter in all of the fields I wanted. It would copy over the
Customer ID but nothing else. (should have copied over another 5 or 6
fields)
Thanks in advance for any help!
