Splash Screen Delay

So I added a splash screen using the method of giving the "same
filename.bmp" to the graphic as the .mdb filename.  The splash screen
shows for about half a second.  Followed by the Switchboard covering
it and then the splash screen disappears.

How can I correct?  Access2000, Win2000.
