==================================================================== Call for Participation
CP-2003 Ninth International Conference on Principles and Practice of Constraint Programming
September 29 - October 3, 2003 Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland
http://www.cs.ucc.ie/cp2003/ ====================================================================
The CP conference is the annual international conference on constraint programming, and it is concerned with all aspects of computing with constraints, including: algorithms, applications, environments, languages, models and systems. CP 2003 includes a technical programme, where presentations of theoretical and application papers, as well as invited papers and advanced tutorials, aim at describing the best results and techniques in the state of the art of constraint programming. Moreover, CP 2003 continues the tradition of the CP doctoral programme, in which a group of Ph.D. students present their work, listen to tutorials on career and ethical issues, and discuss their work with senior researchers via a mentoring scheme. Finally, there will also be a number of workshops, where researchers will be able to meet in an informal setting and discuss their most recent ideas with their peers.
This year the CP conference will be held in Kinsale, Ireland, from September 29 to October 3, 2003. Kinsale is a very pictoresque village over the ocean in the south of Ireland, close to the city of Cork.
CP 2003 received a record number of 182 submitted papers, from which the Program Committee chose 47 accepted papers, that we believe will make a very lively and high quality program. The technical program of CP 2003 will be held from Tuesday to Friday and will include four invited talks (by Henry Kautz and Bart Selman, Tuomas Sandholm, Mark Wallace, and Toby Walsh), four advanced tutorials, a demo session with eigth demos, the presentation of the 47 accepted full papers and one poster session for 35 posters.
CP 2003 will also include ten workshops, to be held on Monday, and a doctoral programme, to be held in parallel with the technical program, which includes four doctoral tutorials, 12 student presentations, and one student poster session.
Finally, CP 2003 is co-located with an Eclipse summer school, that will be held on Sunday, September 28, at the conference site.
We will also have a very interesting social program, including an opening reception, a banquet, and two excursions in the countryside of Ireland and over the ocean.
The details of the technical and social programs, as well as the workshop program, tutorials, demo session and doctoral program, can be found, together with the registration form and information about hotels, at the URL http://www.cs.ucc.ie/cp2003/
