INPUT:

255 files, (well 254 files of 1MB, derived from via 'split') reading a
large .tar.gz file as input.

PROCESS:

Then I ran gzip on each (I do this because it's a fast way to insure
that each input file is ready to be recompressed.

But two files were about 8xxK bytes.  Say 825k and 875k, something
like that...
