Re: NEWBIE ADVICE PLS?

OK, you and Brian have mentioned file types, compatibility. What file types are there besides DWG, DXF, etc. that could be an issue and which packages are compatible with them? Again, I'm a newbie, so please be gentle even though I am already abusing your patience. TIA

BTW, I saw another prog, TurboCAD. Do you or anybody else have opinions on it? TIA

Hello gurus - I would like your thoughts on which program should a
completely CADless person (mature, engineering trained) should purchase
to learn? Needs are basic drafting, no fancy 3-D required.
Considerations of course are price, capabilities, ease of use, etc.

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

I'd recommend:

Autocad LT (maximum compatability with Autocad)
or
IntelliCad (maximum bang-for-your-buck and customization)

Your decision needs to consider if files will be exchanged with others, and
if so, what software are they using.

HTH,

Michael (LS)
