I use Home XP and IE6. A few weeks ago a search engine called Yoogee latched itself to my address bar. With a program called AdAware, I got rid of Yoogee and all of the adwares, spywares and stuff that came with it. Now, I can't search from my address bar anymore. For example: lets say I search for "chocolate", I get http:///?%20chocolate, and the titlebar would read "Cannot find server" along with a message on the page saying "The page cannot be displayed". I've tried reseting IE's internet options. I've tried a few tweaks to the registry. When I attempted to reinstall IE6, I received an error message saying: "The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP. This software will not be installed. Contact your system administrator." This I found funny because I downloaded IE6 from Microsoft! So, why isn't XP recognizing/accepting the software?? Most importantly: Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do, that will allow me to search from my address bar again? Any more regedit tricks, or code maneuvering? I like to use Google. Thanks in advance. Any help or suggestion would be VERY appreciated.
