My Laptop keeps crashing every 20mins or so!!

Could some kind techie person help me please?

I have a Dell 8000 Inspiron on ME operating system.  Lately it's been
behaving badly!

It crashes quite  frequently, nearly every 20/30mins. What happens is
when I am surfing,  I click on a link and then the link sticks. I then
have to re-boot, literally hit the power switch and power off. I have
scanned the files using AVG and all files are virus free!  I have
downloaded IE updates. I have even tried to restore to a date 3 months
back, with no luck.

If anyone could shed some light on this problem I would really
appreciate your help.
