Windows XP Slow down

recently my windows xp computer has gotten very slow and about every
24 hours restarting a get a debug error that crashes everything
internet and i cant even save files in word and the error aske me to
cancel or ignore either way as sson as the error comes up even if i
dont click everything crashes and even my control panel gets an error
sometimes and i cant open certian files...any help?
