It sounds like you are willing to do a lot to get your application
running faster.  I would suggest that before you invest in any new
hardware make sure that the application is compiled with optimisation
specific to your CPU. Depending on the previous compilation this can
make it faster.  Get a compiler from the same company as the CPU.
These guys make money by making a compiler that makes fast code for
their CPU.
