benchmarking portals

Im doing a Thesis at university and need to benchmark the performance
issuses of Portal software.

Im specifically looking at OptimalView, OptimalFlow, Uniface, and
SolidDB from compuware.

Does anyone know of any benchmarking tests that can be used when
comparing the portal on machines of different specifications?

Has anyone ever performed benchmark tests on a portal? How much
improvement does the compuware software/Portals gain if run on a
server with a large amount of memory, hd space etc compared with a
very standard machine.
