IIRC, the metra-byte boards were just an address decoder and an 8255. If you want the PCI equivalent, replace the address decoder with a PLX 9052 and you've essentially got the same card. Your software will have to deal with the address being assigned by the PCI BIOS instead of dip switches, but other than that you've got essentially the same thing. A google search on TTL I/O will find numerous similar cards still being manufactured. -- Mark Sokos Electrical Engineer, Computer Geek (er, programmer), and no talent bum musician <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in message news:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > >I'd like to make a PCB for a minimal, write-only slave PCI > >board, just to output some data. > >....[snip].... > > It's ISA, not PCI, but several years ago I bought a dozen "Metra-Byte" > 24-bit fairly-generic I/O boards for, IIRC, about $25 each. > > --Myron. > -- > Five boxes preserve our freedoms: soap, ballot, witness, jury, and cartridge > PhD EE (retired).
