pci local bus b/w two processors...

Hello friends,

I am working on a dual system where one card is having a broadcom
based processor and other one a mpc 826x. I need to execute many
protocol stacks over the two cards such that low repetitive processing
takes place at motorola processor and the results will be passed to
another card having broadcom proceesor.So a challenging task for me to
decide what should be the communicating  media and how the
communication should take place between the two processors.

My colleagues have thought of a common pci bus to be used for this
purpose since both the processors are pci compliant but I donot know
how to start the work. I am at presnet studying pci specification.

Has anyone worked on similar lines. Any pointer would be helpful.
