Dear Friend, I have already posted this messege few months ago and I got no response yet. I am starting a Ph.D. about Building Intellegent Expert system for diagnosis of medical images. I know there are two schools for doing that: the numeric school and the symbolic school. The first school transforms the problem to linear algebra problem and uses concepts such as distance, feature vector, matrices transformation to tackle the problem. The second school starts by collecting human expert knowldge and write it down as a set of rules (If then rules) in the form of expert knowldge database. Each one of these schools has its advantage and disadvantages and new research has emerged that tries to combine both approaches in a single paradigm. My questions is anybody have any idea about this approach? where to start? and is there any articles pubilshed in that area. Is there any idea that can be used as a starting point for that kind of research. Thanks Juntu [ comp.ai is moderated.
