Robotics Foundry National Alliance Meeting November 10, 2003 A fall membership
meeting will be held in Pittsburgh, PA on Monday, November 10. The meeting is
scheduled from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. It will be held in the Regional Enterprise
Tower (old Alcoa Headquarters Building), 425 Sixth Avenue, 31st Floor, downtown
Pittsburgh.  The days' meeting will conclude with an option to attend the
opening of the Robotics Hall of Fame commencing at 6:30PM. Transportation to
the opening ceremony will be provided by the Robotics Foundry. 
Suggested hotels in downtown Pittsburgh and in walking distance to the Regional
Enterprise Tower are noted at the end of this correspondence.

Background of the Robotics Foundry, Inc. The Robotics Foundry is an
independent, nonprofit economic development organization that directs programs
and initiatives to accelerate the growth of agile robotics technologies and
establish a significant industry cluster in Western PA and beyond. Our mission
is to direct dual-purpose programs and initiatives through three primary
functions: 
1. The National Center for Defense Robotics (NCDR) - procures DoD and other
federal appropriations to fund and manage projects that accelerate the
development and transition of robotics technologies into defense-related
unmanned systems, vehicles, and other applications. 
2. Economic Development - implements programs to attract businesses and
engineering talent to the region. 
3. The Robotics Foundry Alliance - organizes a globally competitive community
of organizations with comprehensive expertise in advanced robotics system and
component technologies.
