Job search

Dear comp.ai members,

My name is Sara Mitri and I have just completed my Bachelor of Science
degree in Computer Science at the American University in Cairo in
June, 2003. I am Egyptian and live in Egypt, but am currently looking
for a job in Europe, the US or Canada in Computational Intelligence
Research.

So far, I have concentrated on applying to Artificial Intelligence
Labs doing work on Genetic Algorithms, Neural Networks, Artificial
Life, etc. This is the direction I would most like to pursue, except
that most of the positions offered require at least a Master of
Science degree. I am also really interested in Natural Language
Processing, Robotics, Gaming and Graphics, where I have less
experience, but a lot of enthusiasm.

I am writing to this group in case someone knows about a good
full-time research position/job and can help me. At the end of this
email I have mentioned the work I have done in AI research till now. I
also hope that my language skills - fluent written and spoken Arabic,
English, German and a good command of French - will also help me with
my international quest!

Please let me know if you know of any such vacancy and thank you for
your time.

Sincerely,
Sara Mitri

--------------------------------------------------------
I have mainly worked on two research projects during my undergraduate
studies:

1. Thesis Project - Applying Particle Swarm Optimization to the
Egyptian Board Game Seega
Developed a program to play the Egyptian board-game Seega. Explored
the application of the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Genetic
Algorithms and Swarm Intelligence to Game Playing and compared the
results of the different approaches.

2. New Population-Oriented Simulated Annealing
Extended the work of Hyeon-Joong Cho, Se-Young Oh and Doo-Hyun Choi on
Population-oriented simulated annealing technique based on local
temperature concept, under the supervision of Dr. Ashraf M. Abdelbar.
Reviewed the results they had reached, as well as experimenting with
new methods to enhance the effectiveness of the technique.
