For some time now, participants at the Darwinian Poetry website (link follows), have been voting on somewhat random strings of words/phrases.
These "poems" basically started off as a jumble of nonsensical
phrases, but those that receive votes are allowed to "mate" with others
or mutate (bringing in a new word here or there). Although still in its
infancy, several "species" have developed and 15 generations have come about. One of my favorites is:
*women unknown and *thousand flown always without heard *be like with shroud *miserable * *life in what eyes shall go divine

mmm. 1000 monkeys, 1000 type writers. 1000 humans evaluating combinatorially explosive output.......????
