AI methods in data mining ?

hi all there !

i'm both interested in Data mining and in IA. I'm searching a project
of research (this is a post graduate annual project) that would merge
both of them.

I've got good knowledges in math, computing, databases and all.

Thought I've heard about rule based agent that are used some times in
data mining, and Blackboards, i've been told that it has little in
common with Data mining.

If someone has an idea of such a kind of project, i'd be most
gratefull.
