Predator Prey model

I am doing reasearch into predator prey dynamics.  Does anyone know of a 
program that creates an n*n matrix, in which 'creatures' can move around 
and 'eat' each other in.  It seems to have similarities to Life, but I 
want to have more than one creature per square.
