NEW YORK, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Chumbawamba's smash hit
"Tubthumping" has been remixed by The Flaming Lips frontman Wayne
Coyne and producer Dave Fridmann.
The new version will be included with the U.S. release of
the band's latest album, "Readymades and Then Some," due Oct. 21
from Koch Entertainment.
In 1997, more than 13 years after forming, the U.K.
collective scored a worldwide hit with the original "Tubthumping."
From Chumbawamba's major label debut, "Tubthumper"
(Republic/Universal), the single topped Billboard's Modern Rock
Tracks and Top 40 Mainstream airplay charts, and
reached No. 6 on the Hot 100.
It remains an anthem frequently heard worldwide in sporting
arenas and stadiums, where thousands chant its "I get knocked down /
But I get up again" chorus in unison.
"There are enough great records around about falling in and
out of love," said vocalist Dunstan Bruce. "We don't need to make
another one."
