Re: Old guy's drum question

Hey Eric,

I don't believe that there is any certain time to learn drumming basics. Sure,
you might be able to learn faster in your childhood years, but from what it
sounds like you want to do with drums, you should be fine.

If you're wanting to record your efforts, a computer is a big help. I have a $5
mic on my computer that I use to record that does a fine job. You could either
buy an acoustic kit and record as stated above, or you could buy an electric
kit (Yes, they do exist, but they are more expensive than acoustic. A basic
Yamaha electric kit will run you about $1000, where-as a beginner acoustic kit
can go as low as $200.) and plug that into your computer.

There are many lessons and articles you can find online, and if you have access
to a music store there are books that you can use to teach yourself.

Hope this helps,
Ryan
