Old guy's drum question

I'm almost 60 years old so it may be too late but I would love to learn some
drumming basics.  I am pretty isolated so I would have to learn by myself.
Can anyone suggest any resources?  Maybe I could use some kind of electronic
drum pad that would record my efforts so that I could learn by listening to
the playback.  I don't even know if there is such a thing.  I would have to
drum with sticks--my hands are pretty beat up.  I have no illusions of
becoming much of a drummer, just a lifetime interest that I now have some
time to pursue.  Thanks everyone.
