Re: Alice gets Hollywood Walk of Fame star

thought.

------No argument there. A standing, lasting monument is something to
be remembered by.

----- So did The Backstreet Boys in 1999 set the record for highest
sales......not on the walk

The Walk of *Fame* is for

------My personal prejudices and knee-jerk reaction here is the
acheiving of this "fame and stardome". By the age of twenty one she
had pushed through much, still I belive that this was only acheived by
massive and extensive mass marketing making her a popular product-not
a bona fide star.

--------Yes I think it matters....
Why did Ozzy get it at the time he did?? In the list he got it
because his recordings... Convenient that his TV show was extremely
popular at that time. And as of now that is what the younger
generation remember him by, not his music.
Back to Britney vs Alice`s star.
Perhaps this would mean more to us fans if this would have come in a
more Alice focued era. Something to gloat about. Like "Our man is on
top and here is the star to prove it"
Right now it`s "another star in the walk, and about time" feeling.

I don`t think Alice`s awareness is that low at the moment.
(Scandinavian opinion) People are very interested in his upcomming
Europe tour.

------No, only to male TV-stars between the age of 30-35.....of course
not!!!!

She's got a star because she MORE meets the qualifications. She

-----Ok, valid point. But still I see the star to be the artists
acheivement, not the marketing aparatus.

-----------But if it is to boost tourism why would it be important
today if a lot of people's awareness of Alice is low. Again...wouldn`t
it have mattered more at an earlier stage??

--------- Actually that part was a bit of a joke, but to follow up;
My comment was intended to fire up the issue on Alice tanktop shirt
with "Britney wants me...dead" -again a joke

But bottom line is that I still think this star should have come much
earlier and gotten much more attention. Hell knows he deserve that.
Ok, call Spears a superstar. Still my personal prejudices and
knee-jerk reactions without
thought is that she is not...how to put this.....true. She sells what
the marketers want to sell, not like "the Coop" wich gives of himself
and what he wants the world to hear.

Still...many good points from you.....

Have fun.

May we all stay crazy......
